This Garmin Nuvi 52LM is a pretty good little sat nav for the money. It has a bright little 5 inch display and comes included with updated maps of the Ireland and the UK (just in case you’re thinking of popping over for a pint of Guinness). Not only does it come with these maps but guess what? Lifetime map updates are also included. Oh yeh. Along with this is most of the usual stuff you’ll get with a sat nav these days but it’s still pretty good; camera warning, lane dedication, and junction views. This allows you to be able to see whats going on with the road if you get to a confusing or traffic heavy junction or road exit.
it also comes with much of the typical Garmin features and functionality. These include the ‘Where Am I? Emergency Locator’. This does what it says on the tin really. If you break down at a location which isn’t known to you, or if you’re need of an emergency service for some reason, you can just click on the little car button which will you give you your exact location and will also give you directions to the nearest emergency service that you require. Also very useful for just finding out where you are!
Don’t get me wrong – this probably isn’t the best sat nav you’ll ever find. It’s not the best Garmin you’ll ever find, or the best Garmin Nuvi for that matter, but it is a good sat nav. It just doesn’t wake you up and dry you when you get out of the shower. But that doesn’t mean it’s not quality and it’s not worth the money you pay for it. What it does mean that it’s probably not the right sat nav for James Bond.
