The TomTom GO 6100 – The only sat nav you’ll ever need
TomTom produce two main ranges for your average driver – the TomTom GO range and the START range. Sure they produce other GPS devices but these are really for truckers and also a good selection of rider navigation devices but if you’re a car owner you’ll probably be buying either a GO or a START. This is why some people term it as a ‘consumer sat nav‘, because it’s one for your average Joe Driver. You will be seeing many of these GPS devices reviewed on this blog.
You have to be a bit of a gadget snob to actually dislike TomTom or the sat navs in the TomTom range. Of course you can buy better devices but these guys know what they’re doing and the average motorist can’t go far wrong with a semi decent TomTom. The brand name has even become a word interchangeably used alongside ‘sat nav’ or ‘GPS’! Anyway, without further ado, here’s one of the top TomTom’s from the GO range – the TomTom GO 6100.
- Free life time traffic updates using SIM with data allowance
- Totally free world maps and updates
- Totally free lifetime camera warning updates
- Brilliantly bright and intereactive 6″ screen
- Covers 100% of roads
Perhaps one of the biggest selling points with the GO 6100 is the maps and traffic updates which are included. You get them for the full life of the sat nav and you don’t even need to plug your GPS into your computer. Nope, it does via a sim car complete with data allowance included and not only does this puppy have UK and Ireland map updates, no, it has WORLD MAP updates. Couple this with free lifetime traffic updates and also TomTom’s great usability and design and you have yourself a pretty cool sat nav. Possibly the only GPS device you’re ever going to need. It also comes with an impressive 6 inch screen and 3D maps
