The TomTom Start 25 Is a trusty, well rounded, robust, starter TomTom sat nav. Read our review to decide whether it’s the right sat nav for you…
The Tom Tom start25, indeed the TomTom Start range in general, are a pretty basic range of sat navs. That’s not to say they’re not good sat navs because they are but the GO range is superior without a doubt in from our point of view. So if you’re really into your car tech and a whiz with car gadgets then this probably isn’t the sat nav for you. However, if you’re a relative newbie or just don’t much car what your GPS does so long as it gets you from A to B then this is quite possibly the sat nav for you.
- Free map updates for life
- 5″ touchscreen
- Lane guidance – for advanced viewing when approaching difficult junctions
- Vocalised street names – allowing you to keep your eyes on the road and not on the sat nav
Of all the sat navs systems that are basically introductory this is one of the best. It works straight out of the box and does exactly what you want a sat nav to do with out any complicated buttons or functions. It’s the sort of sat nav you’d be likely to buy your granny, but hey, thats not a bad thing is it? Don’t let this put you off. It has all the things you really need in a GPS system: free maps for life, a foolproof touchscreen, lane guidance and a voice which tells you what streets you’re on an approaching. If you want a sat nav to do what it’s supposed to do then this is the one for you!
So we’re going to rate this one as a starter unit and as a starter unit, not as a high tech sat nav, we’re going to give it a 4 out of 5.
